LIVERPOOL (Pall Mall, 10am Start)

The Liverpool event is run on a fantastic point to point course starting at 10:00 am. The starting venue is Pall Mall in Liverpool's city centre, just up from the Radisson Hotel and close to the Liver Buildings. This race incorporates one of Liverpool's historical treasures - the Mersey Tunnel!

The route runs for approximately1.5k through Liverpool's streets before dropping down into the Kingsway (Wallasey) Tunnel which was opened by the Queen in 1971. The other Mersey Tunnel (Birkenhead) named Queensway, was opened in 1933 by the King! You'll run through the Tunnel for 3.2K as you travel under the River Mersey exiting on the Wirral side of the river. The incline on the way out of the Tunnel is 1.92K in length.

Upon leaving the Tunnel, the race travels for just over 1.5K along urban roads to the Mersey Ferry Terminal at Wallasey. At this point it moves on to the Egremont Promenade which follows the line of the River Mersey for the last 3.2k to finish at the end of the prom at New Brighton. It is along this stretch that runners get the best view of the Liverpool skyline.

Runners are given the free use of Merseyrail to get back to the start if they haven't made their own arrangements.
