How many people are taking part?
This is the first year of the Norwich Union City v City 10K. We are hoping to inspire and motivate more than 2,000 people to take up the Challenge in each of the cities taking part. So make sure your city is the one with the biggest buzz! Get out there, and tell your friends!
How fit do you have to be? Do I have to run?
The Norwich Union City v City 10K is for people of all abilities. It is about getting ordinary people to take the new Challenge, so the vast majority of people entering will not be serious runners. There will be plenty of people of all abilities.
The Norwich Union City v City 10K is all about taking part and enjoying yourself, so whether you run or walk, this is an event for you!
When should I enter?
It is best to enter as early as possible. It is in your interest to enter early, as places are limited in some venues, it gives you more time to train and prepare, and it gives you plenty of time to receive your Race Pack and race information.
Can I enter on the day?
No, sorry, you can't. This is for several reasons. In terms of & safety, we need to make sure the events do not go over capacity, we need to know who you are in case of a problem, and we need to ensure that we have enough water and medical cover for the numbers taking part.
How do I apply?
Enter online here. Sadly we cannot accept postal, email or telephone entries.
What does my entry fee include?
In addition to being able to race for your city, you will receive a race chip to ensure an accurate finish time and a post race goody bag containing a Norwich Union City v City 10K t-shirt, medal and water.
How secure is the website?
This website is hosted on a secure server. The online transaction area is safe and secure. We are totally committed to your safety and privacy.
What happens when I enter online?
When you enter online, you will be sent a confirmation by email. Your name or names get added to the event database for health & safety reasons. You will then be sent your number(s) along with instruction information in the post.
Is there an age limit?
Competitors must be 17 or over to compete in the Norwich Union City v City 10K. However, if you are over 17, but under 18, you will need the approval of your parent or guardian to enable you to complete the online entry procedure using a credit card.
Help! I've now entered online and I received my confirmation email, but I haven't received my Race Pack.
Don't panic - you're in. If you do not receive your pack ten days before the Norwich Union City v City 10K, please contact us.
I have lost my number. What should I do?
Contact us immediately.
Change of address
If your address details change after you have submitted your application, you should notify us at info@cityvcity.com
If you are worried about a change of address occurring before 3 June, it may be an idea to have your number and Race Pack sent to your workplace.
I am ill or injured. What should I do?
For your own safety, you should not run if ill or injured. You cannot give your number to someone else in your place. This is for insurance reasons.
I can't take part. Can I get a refund?
Sorry but we cannot give refunds. Many of the costs incurred in organising the event are incurred or committed to long before the event takes place.
Can someone else run instead of me?
No. For health & safety and for insurance reasons this cannot be allowed. Your number does not identify you only for results purposes. In the event of an emergency, your number enables us to identify you and to take the appropriate course of action. Swapping of numbers can have serious consequences in the event of someone being wrongly identified.
What time should I arrive at the venue?
Aim to get there at least an hour before the start of your stage of the Norwich Union City v City 10K. This will leave enough time to park, use the toilets and congregate at the start without feeling pressured for time. This will help you enjoy the experience far more and give you more opportunity to soak up the atmosphere.
Do I have to register when I get there?
No. Just turn up, enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy your run!

Can I run with my friends?
Yes, certainly! Line up with your friends and go around together. It is worth thinking in advance about who else you can invite to take part.
Can I bring a buggy or a pushchair?
Sadly, you will not be allowed to participate in the Norwich Union City v City 10K with a pushchair or buggy.
When will the results be live?
Following the race, your results will be online at www.cityvcity.com We aim to have these available by the end of the day on Sunday 3 June.
What to wear?
Comfortable clothing and footwear are important. If you intend to jog or run, we recommend you wear footwear designed for that purpose, otherwise you risk injury.
Please note - no dogs, skateboarding, rollerblading, cycling, etc will be allowed on the course for health & safety reasons.
